Alvis "Dave" Bentley, 85 of Friona passed away August 16, 2021 in Friona. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Celebration of Life Graveside Services set for 2:00 PM Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Friona Cemetery in Friona with Jeff Procter, officiating. Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Dave was born January 2, 1936 in Corsicana, Texas to Albert David and Alice Pearl Menefee Bentley. He later married Dora Geneva Wilkerson on December 3, 1955 in Dimmitt.

He was a longtime area farmer and also truck driver and night watchman for several area feed yards. He loved his family, tinkering with old cars and fishing.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents and 1 son- Danny Ray Bentley and 1 brother-Don Bentley.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Dora Geneva Bentley of Friona, 1 son-Ricky Don Bentley and wife Rhonda of Friona, 1 daughter-Susan Elaine Walker of Muleshoe, 4 brothers-Buck Bentley of Hereford, Dale Bentley of Amarillo, Dub Bentley of Friona, and Buster Bentley and wife Ruby of Perry, Oklahoma, 3 sisters-Katie Wilkerson of Paris, Texas, Betty Fritz and husband Jim, and Joan Walters, all of Elkhart, Indiana,9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
