Obituary

Angelina Faye McWilliams, 86 of Clovis went to receive her heavenly reward on March 3, 2022.  Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM (CT) Monday, March 7, 2022 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY in Friona with Celebration of Life Services at 10:00 AM (MT), Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the West 21 st St. Church of Christ in Clovis, NM with Randy McWilliams, officiating. Burial following in the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona, Texas

Faye was born in Clovis, New Mexico on June 21, 1935, to Escar and Blanche Burton.  After graduation from Forrest High School she began working for Mountain Bell Telephone at the age of 19.  On June 22, 1957, she married Vernon McWilliams.

Faye worked as a very friendly switchboard operator for Mountain Bell for 30 years, retiring at the age of 49.  She was a long-time member of the West 21 st St. Church of Christ, placing membership before the congregation moved from the 10 th Street building.  She was noted for her great cooking, especially during the holidays when she would bake an assortment of breads, and candies of all types.  Family and church members as well as her neighbors all benefited from Faye's gift of cooking.  Faye loved family gatherings, outdoor activities, and playing games with loved ones.

Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, her parents, Escar and Blanche Burton, a brother, Billy Burton, and a sister, Emmie Love.

She is survived by three sisters, Yvonne Mercadante, Ellen Burton, and Bertie (Snipes) Lindsey, son Randy (Terrie) McWilliams, and daughter Cynthia (Randy) McCasland, 5 grandchildren Marc (Brenda) McWilliams, Justin (Rebecca) McCasland, Kaitlin (Kyle) Hendrickson, Amber (Matt) Westfall, and Donovan (Selena) McWilliams, 4 great grandsons Connor and Caden McCasland, Jacob McWilliams, and Holden Westfall, and 2 great granddaughters Aria Faye Westfall and Layla McWilliams.

Memorials can be made to Portales Christian Children's Home in Portales, N.M. or Prairie Acres Nursing Home in Friona as an option to flowers.
