Arnold Louis Schueler, 92 of Friona, formerly of the Rhea Community passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in Friona.  A family directed Celebration of Life Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2025 in the Rhea-Hollene Community Center in the Rhea Community.  Cremation and arrangements entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Arnold was born February 22, 1933 in his home in Rhea to Robert Henry and Anna Gallmier Schueler.  Arnold's love for music began at an early age and his piano teacher in Friona felt he had a gift in music that should be developed and she encouraged Arnold's parents to pursue a higher level of music instruction for him. Beginning in 1945 at the age of 12 to nearly 16 years old, Arnold was taken to Friona every Saturday morning by his dad, to board a Greyhound bus to Amarillo where he would spend the day studying and playing music at the Musical Arts Conservatory and return home in the evening. While studying at the Conservatory, Arnold was the winner of a young Artist Competition in Amarillo and appeared as piano soloist with the Amarillo Symphony.

Arnold attended Friona Schools but graduated with a high school degree from St. John College in Winfield, Kansas. The institution consisted of both a two-year college and four- year high school academy. From St. John's college, he transferred to Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois for one year of music study.

After serving 21 months in the United Stated Army during the Korean War as Chaplain's Assistant (11 months in Seoul, Korea), Arnold returned to civilian life and completed music studies. He received his BS degree from the University of Texas in 1958. Soon after, he began graduate work at North Texas State University and received his Masters of Music Degree. He began post-graduate study on a doctorate degree at Texas Women's University in Denton, but did not complete this level of music study.

Arnold resided almost all of his life in Dallas where he taught music in the Dallas Public School system for grades 5-8. He also taught private piano and organ lessons from his home while serving as organist of numerous churches in the Dallas area. He remained active as an organist for churches up to the age of 88. He moved from Dallas to a Senior Independent living facility in Amarillo in January 2024 and then made his final move to Prairie Acres Nursing Home in Friona in March of 2025.

Arnold is preceded in death by his parents- Robert and Anna Schueler, 4 brothers-Raymond, Norbert, Floyd, and Robert Jr., 2 sisters-Elenor Meissner, and Irene Graham.

Survivors include a sister-in-law- Glenda Schueler of Amarillo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
