Benito C. Arizmendez Sr., 86 of Bovina passed away May 22, 2019 in Farwell. Viewing has been scheduled from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 26, 2019 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home with Rosary Services at 6:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 27, 2019 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Cremation and arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Benito was born December 23, 1932 in Santa Rosa, Texas to Jacinto and Herlinda Cortez Arizmendez. He later married Simona Hernandez April 10, 1951 in La Feria, Texas.

He was a employee of Sherley-Anderson Grain Elevator for 37 years. He loved to dance and play bingo and was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 brother-Jacinto Arizmendez Jr. and 2 sisters-Adelita Gonzalez and Lupita Rosales.

Those to carry on his legacy include-1 son-Benito Arizmendez, Jr. of San Antonio, 2 daughters-Lupe Garcia and Linda Arizmendez of Bovina, 2 sisters-Felipa Moreno of Boca Raton, Florida and Francis Borrego of Edinburg, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
