Billy Dean Baxter, 89 of Friona died February 20, 2016 in Friona. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Friona with Rev. Brett Hoyle, pastor, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Billy was born December 18, 1926 in Elk City, Oklahoma to George William and Ella Eden Baxter. He served as a United States Army Medical Technician during WWII. He married Lille Mae Renner on September 7, 1947 in Friona where he was an accomplished cattle rancher and farmer, and was a past board of directors member of the Federal Land Bank, and Friona Consumers Coop. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Friona where he also taught Sunday School for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers-J.W. Baxter and Loren Snyder.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie of Friona, 2 sons-John Michael Baxter and wife (Cathy) of Saguache, Colorado, and Blayne Dee Baxter and wife Glenda of Syracuse, Kansas, 1 daughter-Debra Elaine Baxter of Amarillo, 2 sisters-Sue Null and husband Bill of Roscoe, Illinois, and Ann Carmichael of Timber Lake, South Dakota, 1 grandson-Bryan Dean Baxter of Wichita, Kansas, 3 step grandchildren of Henderson, Nevada and 1 step grandson of Santa Fe, N.M.
