Celeste Olvera, 64 of Bovina passed away November 8, 2022 in Amarillo. Viewing will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with Rosary Services set for 6:00 PM at the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 10:00 AM Friday November 11, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Gregory Bunyan and Deacon Michael Anzaldua of Dalhart at Celebrants. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Celeste was born August 8, 1958 in Belen, New Mexico to Juan and Adela Zamora Florez. She later married Jose "Joe" Olvera June 9, 1979 in Texico, New Mexico.
Celeste was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and family. She loved to teach children and taught in St. Ann's Catholic Church where she was very active in helping teach children in the CCD program. She homeschooled her own children for many years as well. After her children became adults, she was an aide at the assisted living center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Joe.
Those to mourn her passing include her 3 sons-Joseph Olvera and wife Sabrina of Bovina, Mike Olvera and wife Elida of Dalhart, and Jason Olvera and wife Janey of Bovina, 1 brother- Johnny Florez and wife Delia of Lubbock, 4 sisters-Nickie Villarreal and husband George of Bovina, Josie Gonzales and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Anna Martinez and husband Marty of Clovis, Bernadette Askew and Mark Shore of Lubbock, Aunt- Precilla Soccio of Farwell, 8 grandchildren-Matthew, Sophia, Edgar and wife Olivia, Jacob, Natalie, Miranda, Noah, and Asuna and 1 great-grandchild-Kamila Robinson.
