Cleburne Lee Stokes 92, of Friona passed away February 26, 2026 in Friona.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, Monday March 2, 2026 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Guy Walker, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Cleburne was born January 11, 1934 in Keo, Pulaski County, Arkansas to Carl Frances and Lou Ella Brock Stokes. He later married Shirley Ann Asher December 13, 1962. Cleburne was a farmer by trade, but most importantly, by God. He literally was awarded for the straightest rows in Texas. His love for the farm was evident, as he loved to say, "Out here on the farm, I feel closest to God." His love for outdoors and wilderness also extended to hunting, fishing. and tending to his roses. Cleburne was a man of few words, but when he talked, he got his point across. He was selfless, caring, loving and a great role model for others.

He is preceded in death by his parents- Carl and Lou Ella Brock Stokes, siblings- Harris, Glen, Jerry, Evelyn, Ruby, and Marilyn.

Those to cherish his memory include his wife Shirley of Friona, 1 son-Cleburne Boyd Stokes and wife Julie and 1 daughter-Gay Bridges and husband Jerry, all of Friona, 2 sisters-Marie Bradley of Elkins, Arkansas, and Irene Ingiald and husband Larry of Crystal Springs, Arkansas, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
