David Connor Lawlis, formerly of Bovina, Texas, died on Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Bovina, with Reverend Brian Mullin, pastor. Burial will follow in Bovina Cemetery, with arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home. David Connor Lawlis was born on August 29, 1944 in Sweetwater, Texas, to Ovid Connor Lawlis and Doris Lucille Steed Lawlis. He graduated from Bovina High School, then went to work in several fields, including working as a consultant in computer programming in the Dallas Metroplex area. He retired in 2010 and moved to Tulia, Texas to be closer to family. His hobbies included watching movies and sports, his teams included the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandchild.
