Dean Stanberry, 69 of Bovina passed away January 22, 2018 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Memorial Services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Bovina with Rev. Brian Mullins, pastor, officiating. Arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Dean was born November 28, 1948 in Danville, Arkansas to Thogal Denton and Bonnie Mae McCormick Stanberry. He married Veda 'Wendy" Thornton December 25, 1968.

For many years he worked at several agriculture related businesses including Bovina Pump Company and for Terra/CHS in Bovina for 25 years.

He loved having fun and always had a smile. He enjoyed flying drones and was a great drone pilot, and loved taking trips to Ruidoso with his beloved nephew Johnny Stanberry. The pride and enjoyment of his life was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wendy Stanberry, and 4 brothers-Cloys, Buford, Harold and Danny Stanberry.

Continuing the legacy are 3 daughters-Michelle Gonzales and husband Martin of San Marcos, Jamie McNeely of Bovina, and Melanie Bustos and husband John Paul of Farwell, 1 son-Travis Stanberry and Steffani of Amarillo, 1 sister-Brenda McNeely and husband Reggie of Weatherford, Texas, 8 grandchildren-Alex Gonzales, Krystin Gonzales, Ashleigh McNeely, Emma McNeely, Orianna Bustos, Olivia Bustos, Brady Meriweather and Christian Jackson and 1 great-granddaughter-Kalliope Reiss.
