Delfino "Shorty" Hernandez, 89 of Friona passed away August 22, 2019 in Friona. Rosary Services will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday August 23, 2019 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial Services Scheduled for 10:00 A.M.  Saturday, August 24, 2019 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Hansard Family Funeral Home of Friona.

Delfino was born December 2, 1929 in Mexico to Blas Hernandez and Bruna DeLacruz Martinez..  He was married to Maria Hernandez Puentes for 65 years.

Delfino was a longtime area farmer and loved to work. He was known as a very giving family man.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son-Delfino Hernandez Jr, 1 daughter-Idalia Salas Hernandez, 1 brother, and 3 sisters.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Maria of Friona, 3 sons-Eddy Hernandez and wife Melissa, Eric Hernandez and wife Gina Ortiz, and Junior Hernandez and wife Gloria, all of Friona, 3 daughters- Martha Hernandez and husband Juan Vasquez, and Nancy Hernandez and husband Dale Perez of Friona, and Gladis Hernandez and husband Juan Ornelas of Guadalajara, Mexico, 1 sister-Clara Hernandez also of Mexico, 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
