Edward Samuel White 89, of Clovis, formerly of Friona passed away August 5, 2021 in Lubbock. Viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Celebration of Life Services scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Friona United Methodist Church in Friona with Rev. Skip Hodges, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Edward was born October 19, 1931 in Friona to Edward Samuel and Fern Hamm White. When of age, he entered into the United States Army. After his military service he married the love of his life Doris Bradley on January 25, 1956 in Clovis. Together they owned and operated White Grocery Store in Friona for many years and were always the first to help in a time of need of grocery supplies.

He loved spending time with family watching sports and going with his daughter to the Dairy Queen to get ice cream.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, 1 son-Martin Dean White, and 4 sisters-Ann Campbell, May Holder, Irene Roberts, and Lois Nolte.

Those to carry on his legacy include 2 sons John Claude White and wife Nita of Whiteface, and Larry Gene White and wife Anita of Lubbock, 1 daughter-Sami Renae Trollinger and husband Russ of Clovis, 2 brothers-Richard White of Amarillo, and Raymond White of Mississippi, 2 sisters-June Cannon of Amarillo, and Sue Hinds of Canyon, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
