Emilio Degollado 79, of Friona passed away May 8, 2020 in Friona. Viewing will be from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Monday, May 11, 2020 at Templo Bautista Damasco in Friona with Celebration of Life Services set for 11:00 A.M. Tues, May 12, 2020 at Templo Bautista Damasco in Friona with Pastor Rafael Cordero officiating.  Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Emilio was born August 3, 1940 in Mexico to Vicente and Maria Gonzales Degollado. He immigrated to the United States at age 22 and began working in Wildorado and then moved to Friona and began farming and helping Louis Welch. Later he worked for Cargill retiring at the age of 73. He was known as a very hard worker and was extremely active in his church giving his time and finances.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Raquel Degollado, 2 sons-Juan Degollado and wife Mandy, and Enrique Degollado, all of Friona. 2 daughters Emily Hernandez of Denver City, Texas and Gabriela Benavides and husband Hugo of Amarillo, 2 sisters-Emelia Degollado and Felipa Degollado, both of Mexico, 5 grandchildren and 1 great -grandchild.
