Gerardo Torres, 29 of Amarillo, formerly of Friona passed away January 14, 2021 in Amarillo. Viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. with Rosary Services at 6:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Gerardo was born August 19, 1991 in Amarillo to Jesus Torres and Veronica Tafoya. He was a 2009 graduate of Friona High School.
Gerardo loved the sport of boxing and was a professional boxing promoter. He was known for his generous, thoughtful heart. He was always joyful, even in tough times. His family says, "He didn't just talk the talk, he walked the walk."

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Gilberto and Modesta Torres.

Those to mourn his passing include his parents of Friona, 2 brothers-his twin, Gilberto Torres and Gustavo Torres, both of Amarillo, grandparents- Avelino and Concha Tafoya of Friona, and many, many friends.
