Glendel Day Jones, 82, life-long Friona resident passed away May 29, 2023 in Amarillo. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May, 31, 2023 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Celebration of Life Services at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church of Friona with Rev. D. Jay Lewis and Rev. Brett Hoyle, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Glendel was born May 3, 1941 in Friona to Loyd Cayson and Thelma Curry Jones. He later married Olivia Perez, June 20, 1991 in Friona. Glendel was a proud Friona supporter helping with the kids fishing day at Reeve Lake, working in carpet flooring, the Friona, I.S.D., and the City of Friona. As much as he loved Friona, he loved his Lord even more and wanted to tell everyone of his joy whether it be singing or speaking in his home church of Calvary Baptist or the jail ministry in Farwell.

Glendel is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother-L.A. Jones, and 1 sister-Billie Wall.

Those that will mourn his passing include his wife Olivia of Friona, 1 daughter-Becky Harmon of Lubbock, 1 grandchild-Kirsten Harmon, and many, many friends.
