She was born to Miguel and Geronima Perez on September 19, 1935, in El Ranchito, Texas.   She married Jose Angel Guerra May 26, 1956. Lupe was a very hard-working woman and proud of her accomplishments. She worked out in the fields for many years, Levi Strauss Sewing Factory, Sue Ann Inc. another Sewing Factory in Hereford and Prairie Acres Nursing Home.  She started working at Prairie Acres in 1979 where she became a Certified Medication Aide for over 18 years.  She was very proud to receive her 5-, 10-, and 15-year medal pendants.  In her spare time, she loved to crochet blankets and sew.  She made lots of clothes for her 8 children when they were younger.  Lupe even had the privilege to make a quinceañera dress for one of her daughters. She was able to make lots of fleece tied blankets for her children, grandchildren and anyone else she could think of.  She loved to shop at Walmart and any other store where she could find a bargain on material for her sewing hobby. She loved to watch college softball; however, her favorite sport to watch every year was the little league world series.  She would attend her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren sports games - football, baseball, softball and volleyball. She loved to babysit her grandchildren and great grandchildren, make homemade food and everyone loved her tortillas.  She would help make homemade tamales every year with her sister Sylvia in Muleshoe until she was unable to do so. She would make the BEST menudo that would make your mouth water. She also had the privilege to deliver one of her own grandchildren in Black, Texas - this made her a nervous wreck, but she was proud of this incredible moment.  She was a hero in her family's eyes. The love for her son Danny was very unique and special.  She always remembered that special moment when her great granddaughter only 2 years old pulling a chair to the kitchen sink to get a little water, just enough for her to swallow her medicine which was very heartbreaking.  She was also a provider to three of her grandchildren, that she loved so very much.

Lupe was very dedicated to St. Teresa's Catholic Church for many years and always participated at the jamaicas.  She had her daughter Lisa (R.I.P) and other children including her grandchildren dance matachines to honor La Virgin De Guadalupe. She would make their outfits to participate in this special occasion. Lupe was always a kind loving person who made people feel at ease whom she cared for. She had a warm smile with a very strong faith in God which was so evident throughout her life and even at the end of her life.  Her prays were very powerful.  As expected, she truly loved all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and she was blessed recently with two great, great grandchildren.

WE LOVE YOU MOM.  YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED.

Lupe was preceded in death by her husband Jose Angel Guerra, two sons, Alex Guerra and Jose Angel Guerra Jr. and one daughter Lisa Guerra, her parents Miguel and Geronima Perez and two brothers Robert and Mike Perez and one sister Maria Alicia Garcia.
