Hal Ratcliff, 78 of Canyon, formerly of Friona passed away January 6, 2021 in Amarillo. Viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2021 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Celebration of Life Services set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Friona United Methodist Church in Friona with Rev. Archie Echols of Lubbock and Rev. Rick Enns of Canyon, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Hal was born December 18, 1942 in Rotan, Texas to Arthur Glenn and Koma Hyatt Ratcliff. He later married Charlotte Ann Bock August 25, 1961 in Dimmitt.
Hal was a coach at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, taught and coached in Lubbock and was a school administrator at Levelland, Hartley, and Friona.
Outside of his life as an educator, Hal loved to travel with his family including following children and grandchildren sporting events. He served on several state education, community, and church boards as well as teaching Sunday School.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Charlotte of Canyon, 2 daughters-Sheri Beth Gervais and husband John of Bellville, and Ronda Marie Norman and husband Darby of Canyon, 1 brother-Jim Ratcliff and wife Marion of Georgetown, 2 sisters-in-law- Janiece Baxter of Arvada, CO., and Judy Green of Amarillo, grandchildren-Sarah Ross and husband Andrew, Amy Beth Poole and husband Zachary, Joshua Garrett Gervais, Faith Norman and Drew Norman, great-grandchildren-Willow Mae Poole and Adeline Grace Poole.
