Herbert L. Schueler, 85, of Rhea, TX passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, in Friona.  Family and friends visitation will be held Wednesday September 19, 2018 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  at HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona with Celebration of Life Graveside Services scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Rhea Cemetery with Rev. Brett Hoyle, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Friona, officiating.  Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Herbert was born January 22, 1933 in the Rhea Community to Herman and Emma Gallmeier Schueler. He served his country in the Army of the United States from November 1953 to September 1955 having served in Korea.  He married Cecelia Stehr at the Lutheran Church in Hereford, TX on July 25, 1958.  Herbert and Cecelia made their home in the Rhea Community where Herbert farmed until his retirement.  In retirement, he enjoyed his front porch viewing the country landscape of Rhea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Lillian Schueler, Dorothy Bauer, and Velma Schlenker, and two brothers, Gilbert Schueler and Walter Schueler.

Those to continue his legacy include: his wife, Cecelia Schueler of Rhea, 5 children:  Glen Schueler of Rhea, Mike Schueler and wife Amy of Hereford, Carrie Landrum and husband Jeff of Glen Rose, Jo Osborn and husband Robert of Friona, and Jeff Schueler and wife Heather of Abernathy, 11 grandchildren,5 great grandchildren and a sister- in -law Martha Schueler of Allen.
