Iris Nelline Spicer, 79, of Bovina passed away, Thursday, May 31, 2012, in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Bovina with Rev. Brian Mullins officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona. Iris was born March 11, 1933, in Boswell, Oklahoma to John and Nellie Ensey Gordon. Iris has resided in Bovina since 1956. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Nanny and a faithful friend. She was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and she enjoyed reading. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bovina. She is survived by two daughters, Kay Stanton and husband, Joe of Farwell, Texas and Nena Mankin and husband, Ronnie of Amarillo; one son, Marty Spicer and fiancé, Jana Kennedy of Forney, Texas; one sister, Elsie Adams of Stillwell, Oklahoma and three brothers, Adele Anderson of Forney, Texas, Jim Gordon of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Lonnie Gordon of Paris, Texas; four grandchildren, Kristy Reeves of Clovis, New Mexico, Kylee Veazey of College Station, Texas, Tamara LupPlace of Garland, Texas, and Clay Spicer of Dallas, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Brinn and Brooke Reeves of Clovis, New Mexico and Peyton and Jordan LupPlace both of Garland, Texas, and Averie Spicer of Dallas, Texas.
