James Ray Stevick, 64, of Friona passed from this life to the next on Monday, October 26, 2020. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

James was born on February 7, 1956 to Glen and Ruth McElroy Stevick. He lived in Parmer County his whole life and graduated from Friona High School.

James was a good friend and everyone that knew him, liked him. He loved music, and his favorite band was Pink Floyd. He enjoyed science, model airplanes, owned a hang glider, and was known to take apart anything, whether he could put it back together or not. Over the years, James held many jobs because of his incredible skill as a welder, most notably he worked with his brother Ronnie at Stevick Ditching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronnie Stevick, a sister, Sally Stevick, and his infant sons, James Ray Stevick, Jr., and James Dylan Stevick.

James is survived by his daughter, Kyndness D'Nae Garza, his son, James Derek Murphree, his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Jerry LaFrance, his sister, Karen King, five grandchildren, Jacob, Abby, Hannah, Emily, and Isabel, his nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Carla Murphey.
