Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Friona Cemetery with Paul Garcia, Chaplain for Samaritan Hospice, officiating. Arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home in Friona. James was born June 8, 1960 in Brownfield, Texas to Jess Willard and Betty Lewis Upton. He loved TV and Gospel and Country Music. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Rita Isum Survivors include a sister- Yvonne Jones of Friona, 3 Nieces-Linda Thompson of Brownfield, Lisa McLellan of Red River, N.M. , and Lydia Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma, 1 Nephew Pat Upton of Friona.
