Jimmy Maynard, 86, of Friona passed away June 14, 2024 in Friona. Viewing will be held from 9:00AM to 8:00PM with family visitation at 6:00PM Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Celebration of Life Services at 10:00AM June 19, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Friona with Pastor Brett Hoyle officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Jimmy was born July 12, 1937 in Rocky, Oklahoma to Jim Wesley and Opal Faye Williams Maynard.  He later married Barbara Hock on September 5, 1957 in Friona. He worked for Herring Implement, Pioneer/ Energas and Hi Pro Feeds. He was a very devoted member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Friona where he and Barbara also spent 25 years ministering in the Tulia prison, and the Neal unit in Amarillo with the FBC prison ministry.

In the late 1960's Jimmy was a part of a tournament winning volleyball league from Friona.  He loved to ride his motorcycles in the mountains and travel in his motorhome. He spent many hours tinkering with cars and motorcycles, making them faster. He loved his family and friends and always had a sweet spirit and smile on his face.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife- Barbara, 1 brother-Jerry Maynard and 1 grandson-Murphy Maynard.

Those to mourn his passing include 2 sons-Don Maynard and wife Diane, Mike Maynard, and 1 daughter-Shauna Winters and husband Mike, all of Amarillo, 1 sister-Karen Fuller and husband Jim of Rocky, Ok., and 1 granddaughter-McKenna Bell.
