Jimmy T. Norwood, 84 of Friona passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 in Friona. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Friona United Methodist Church in Friona with Rev. Skip Hodges, pastor, officiating. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Jimmy was born February 14, 1936 in Longview, Texas to Willie Bernie and Dora Belle Sherman Norwood. He later married Nancy Crow on May 28, 1960 in Friona.

He was an expert in carpentry and construction and later became a truck driver and farmer as well. But, a large majority of his time was with his family traveling and going to activities of his children and grandchildren. He loved to spend time with family and friends.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother- W.B. Norwood, and 2 sisters-Lois Norwood and Jerry Belle Blaylock.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Nancy of Friona, 3 sons-Douglas R. Norwood and wife Alma of Friona, Jim Wayne Norwood and wife Ashley of Lubbock, and Jeremiah Norwood and wife Stephanie of Towanda, Kansas, 1 daughter-Rebecca Lynn Sharpe and husband Rick of Shelbyville, M.O., 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dogs-J.T. and Wendy.
