Joe Guadalupe Duran, 80 of Lubbock, formerly of Friona passed away August 21, 2018 in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 25, 2018 at the Friona Cemetery Memorial Chapel with family officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona.

Joe was born May 26, 1938 in Friona to Matilde and Juanita Aragon Martinez. He later married Maria Morales October 19, 1968 in Levelland.

He was a long time area farmer that loved to invent things. He was an avid reader, especially Louis L'Amour books. His TV was always on the Western Channel. The pride of his life was his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Those to carry on his legacy include 6 sons-Joseph Gabriel Duran and Joe Duran of Amarillo, Ben Duran and Lupe Duran of Lubbock, Juan Duran of Friona, and Matti Duran of Carlsbad, N.M., 1 daughter-Teresa Ramos of Friona, 2 sisters-Sarah Coronado of San Angelo and Alice Garza of Friona, 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
