Joe Francis Reeve, 79 of Friona passed away November 8, 2022. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2022 at HANSARD FAMILY. Please use the front entrance. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Union Congregational Church in Friona with Jeff Procter, minister, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Joe was born November 14, 1942, in Friona, Texas, to Glenn, Sr. and Allo Sparkman Reeve. After Joe graduated from high school, he joined his father and brother in the Reeve Chevrolet-Olds business as the service manager, a position he held until the business was sold in the mid-1980's. Joe opened his own garage in Friona where he was born and lived all of his life.
Joe was a quiet soul who did not talk much, but he would give you the shirt off his back and would always help a friend or stranger in need. He was a "mechanic extraordinaire", answering any and all questions from kids and grandkids as well as having an innate ability to fix just about anything. He could "hear" or "smell" a vehicle running and tell you what was wrong with it.
Joe's children are all thankful that both of their parents continued to mutually support them throughout their adult lives.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to carry on his legacy include his three children with Wanda Nell Ready: Joe Kyle Reeve and wife Sarita of Pampa; Mitchell Reeve and wife Jan of Vega; Trudy Banner and husband Phil of Amarillo; and his wife Margie Bridges and her children, Elizabeth Wren and husband Michael of Longview, Texas, and Justin Bridges of Friona. He is also survived by his three brothers, Glenn Evan Reeve, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Friona; Don Reeve and wife Lavon of Graham, Texas: and Max Reeve of Graham, Texas; as well as 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Joe Francis Reeve.
