John William Hand John William Hand, 85, passed away on June 27, 2012 in Weatherford, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Sixth Street Church of Christ in Friona, Texas, ministers will be Mr. Leon Talley and Mr. Jeff Procter and assisted by Mr. Mark Dennis. Burial will follow at Friona Cemetery, funeral services provided by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home. There will be a family visitation at 6:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home. John William Hand was born on April 3, 1927 in Lakeview Community, TX, to John Ira and Pearl (Sidebottom) Hand. He married Billie Jo Shirley in 1944 in Hereford, Texas. John was a lifelong resident of Friona, where he farmed. He loved horses, raising a few, but loved to watch horse racing. He enjoyed joking with his kids and grandchildren. John and Billie Jo enjoyed traveling, they traveled to different parts of the world. John was a member of Sixth Street Church of Christ in Friona, Texas. John was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
