Jose Isable Marrufo, 71 of Bovina passed away june 28, 2020 in Bovina. Viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 2, 2020 with Rosary Services at 6:30 P.M. in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2020 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Jose was born November 18, 1948 in Durango, Mexico to Pedro and Tomasa Ibanez Marrufo. He later married Victoria Romero on May 3, 1973 in Mexico.

He was an employee of Cargill for over 30 years. He loved to work in his garden and lawn and was very social, always telling jokes and making people laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son-Pedro Marrufo, 1 brother- Ignacio Marrufo and 2 sisters-Evangeline and Luz Marrufo.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife of Bovina, 4 sons-Izzy Marrufo and wife Charlotte and Melecio Marrufo and wife Mary Jane, all of Bovina, Cruz Marrufo and wife Adela of Austin, and Daniel Marrufo and wife Alma of Fort Morgan, CO., 1 daughter-Elia Gonzales and husband Jesse of Amarillo, siblings-Jose Miguel Marrufo and wife Manuela, Jose Angel Marrufo, Nazario Marrufo and wife Concha, Juanita Marrufo and Francesca Marrufo, 23 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
