Karen Sue Strong Knock passed away August 13, 2021 in Friona. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. August 21, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart with Kurtis Abla, officiating. Inurnment will follow. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona and Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart.

Karen was born August 10, 1948 in Dalhart to James Arthur and Karlena Mable Cox Bishop Strong.

After graduating high school, she attended beautician school in Amarillo. She was an avid gardener, and gospel music was played as loud as possible while tending to her beautiful flowers. Her love for all things historical brought her to love genealogy. Karen was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, and The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Karen married Donald Henry Knock in Lennox, South Dakota on April 30, 1981.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother-Deward Lynn Strong and a great-grandson-Copeland Johnson.

Survivors include her husband Donald Knock of Lennox, South Dakota, 3 children-Vincent Koelzer and wife Amy and grandson Hunter all of Wheeler, Greg Koelzer of Wheeler, Valencia Koelzer Meier and husband Peter of Friona, grandson- Landon Johnson and wife Shanda, and great-grandson Archer all of Amarillo, grandson-Michael Johnson and wife Jade and great-grandsons Schaefer and McCoy, all of Canyon, grandson-Donavan Johnson of Amarillo, sister-in-law-Kim Strong of Oklahoma, nieces-Dana Strong Abla of Dalhart, Nikki Strong of Oklahoma, DJ Strong of Colorado, many other nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
