Larry Lloyd Rector, 73, lifetime resident of Friona, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025 in Amarillo. A family directed Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday April 15, 2025 at Friona Methodist Church with David McGaughy, officiating. Cremation arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona.

Larry was born August 1, 1951, in Friona, to Lloyd and Betty Louise Rector. He graduated from Friona High School in 1970 and in 1973 he married the love of his life Sharon Rector in the Friona First Baptist Church. A proud lifelong resident of Friona, Larry was a familiar face and faithful friend in the community he loved so deeply. His life reflects his vibrant spirit – from riding dirt bikes and working on classic cars, to camping with family and friends. Creating lasting memories with those he loved was important to him. Larry was a man of deep and unwavering faith. He served his community, church, and family with humility, always putting others before himself. His servant's heart was so evident in everything he did, he was known for his kindness, warmth, and sincere care for others. Above all, Larry cherished his family. His love for his dear wife, children and his five treasured granddaughters "five queens"- was unwavering and filled with pride. He also found immense joy in his role as a great-grandfather to his precious great-grandson, River.

He is preceded in death by his parents – Lloyd and Betty Louise Rector.

Those left to celebrate Larry's life include his beloved wife of 51 years, Sharon Rector: his son Jason Rector and wife Karla of Friona; his daughter Janet Denton of Amarillo; five granddaughters, Arlisa Denton of Friona, Emma Hernandez and husband Jonathon of Friona, Jodie Guajardo and husband Joe of Amarillo, Molly Rector, Ella Rector; one great grandson River Denton; all of Friona and many siblings, uncles, aunts nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
