Lela Beth "MeMa" Shelton 79 of Tulia, formerly of Friona passed away December 17, 2025 in Tulia. Viewing will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday December 19, 2025 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Celebration of Life Services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Friona Methodist Church in Friona with Chaplain Guy Atkinson and Pastor Duke Underwood, officiating. Burial Following in the Friona Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Beth was born August 4, 1946 in Spur, Texas to Lewis Eugene and Mildred Ione Pickens Hickman. During college she met and married Jerry Shelton September 4, 1965 in Lubbock. While in Lubbock she worked clerical duties at Dunlap's Department Store. Later, moving to Friona she worked clerical duties in the offices of the hospital, nursing home and Friona ISD Administration. Beth was always a very loved person, because she too loved her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mom and "MeMa" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to play games and do word and puzzles and was an avid reader.

She is preceded in death by her parents- Lewis and Mildred Hickman, 1 son-Trent Shelton, 1 brother-Lewis Lee Hickman, 1 sister-Bobbie Jo Holbrooks.

Those to mourn her passing include her husband-Jerry Shelton of Tulia, 2 daughters-Trista Hickman of Friona, and Tara White and husband Russell of Wichita Fall, Texas, 1 son-Tate Shelton and wife Robin of Tulia, grandchildren-Brooke White and Tyler Morris, Bree White, Britton White, Torey Shelton, Dustin Shelton, Emily Shelton, Kota Schafer and wife Jasmine, Trent Hickman and wife Elizabeth and Brent Hickman and Sabrina Mariscal, and 6 great grandchildren-Addisyn, Elliot, Ronan, Addiana, Naleah, and Melissa.
