Letha Fern Gammon, 82, of Friona, Texas, died Friday, August 15, 2014 in Friona, TX. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 6th Street Church of Christ in Friona, TX with Jeff Procter, minister. Arrangements made by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona, TX. Letha was born on August 20, 1931 in Olustee, Oklahoma to George Washington and Ola Walton(Lovejoy) Harwood. She married J. W. Gammon on October 10, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was a teacher and a member of Hub Ladies Auxiliary. Letha attended Lazbuddie Church of Christ for 50 years, and 6th Street Church of Christ for 12 years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J. W. Gammon, 4 sisters: Velma Powers, Ruth Conrad, Bertha Greteman and Wilma Pritchard and 3 brothers: Haskell Harwood, Floyd Harwood and George Harwood. Survivors: 2 Daughters, Sarah Black and husband, Ricky of Friona, TX, Cindy King and husband, Dee of Amarillo, TX, 1 Son: Mark Gammon and wife, Tammy of Friona, TX, 2 Brothers: Fred Harwood of Amarillo, TX and Bill Harwood of Pampa, TX, 1 Sister: Betty Avent of Canyon, TX, 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren, and caretaker Maria Rodriguez of Bovina, TX.
