Lucy M. Rocha, 78 of Bovina passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 in Bovina Viewing will be held from 9:00AM to 8:00PM with prayer services at 6:00PM Saturday May 11, 2024 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Celebration of Life Graveside Services set for 10:30AM Monday May 13, 2024 in the Bovina Cemetery in Bovina. Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Lucy was born July 7, 1945 in Ballinger, Texas to Andres and Emiliana Peña Martinez. She met Raymond Rocha in Altus, Oklahoma when they were 12 and 13 years old and later married on June 27, 1962 at the age of 17 and 18. Together they had 6 children. They moved to Bovina in 1970. Lucy enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Novelas, and doing word searches. She always had a good sense of humor and loved to joke around. Most of all, she loved doing anything as long as it was with Raymond. From cruising, sitting on the porch, having breakfast with him, or doing word search books together, she loved him and his company. Raymond was her best friend and favorite person.

Lucy will always be remembered for her kindness, words of wisdom, her love for others, her love for God, and her sense of humor. She always had a smile on her face and was quick to laugh.

Lucy is preceded in death by by her two sons- Raymond II and Larry Rocha, parents- Andres and Emiliana Martinez, 4 sisters, and 1 brother.

Survived by her husband of 61 years- Raymond Rocha,  Rebecca Johnson (Pallidan Sanders), Mona Contreras, Jerry Rocha (Araceli Manquero), Sarah Hernandez (Rudy Hernandez), 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
