Maria Chico, 87 of Friona died December 31, 2017 in Friona. Celebration of Life Services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Templo Bautista Damasco with Evangelist Jorge Torres of Friona, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Maria was born February 19, 1930 in Mexico to Carlos and Matilde Rodriguez Ronquillo. She married Ruben Chico in Mexico in 1950. She loved to spend time with her family, cooking, going to church, shopping and coffee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter-Rafaela Chico, 2 brothers-Gilberto and Matiniano Ronquillo, 1 sister-Elviva Trevizo and 1 grandchild-Ashley Chico Trevino.

Survivors include her husband of Friona, 3 sons-Emilio Chico of Colorado Springs, CO., Jose Chico and Ruben Chico Sr. of Friona, 3 sisters- Umbalina Vasquez of Mexico, Yolanda Trevizo of Wichita, Kansas and Elida Guaderrama of Mexico, 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
