Maria Cruz Calderon Gonzalez, 70 of Friona passed away September 25, 2025 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Services have been scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday September 27, 2025 at Templo De Adoracion of Friona with Pastor Roy Dominguez, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Maria was born May 3, 1955 in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico to Petra Calderon Rico. Her main passion was her family. She loved God and that carried over into her life, as she was a loving and caring mother, and grandmother and loved to provide and travel with them. Their journey was her journey.

Preceding her in death was her mother-Petra Calderon Rico, husband-Jose Luis Gonzalez, daughter-Mayra Gonzalez and great-grandson- Elisha Escobedo.

Those to mourn her passing include 2 sons- Jose Luis Gonzalez II, and Heriberto Gonzalez  both of Big Lake, 2 daughters- Maria Magdalena Gonzalez and Maricruz Licerio both of Friona, siblings-Benita Calderon, Isabel Calderon, Manuela Calderon, Oscar Calderon, Cirilo Calderon, Esteban Calderon, grandchildren-Perla Gonzalez, Raul Licerio, Jonathan Licerio, Diego Licerio, Estibali Tafoya, Lupita Gonzalez, Luis Adame, José Luis Gonzalez, Erica Gonzalez, Noelia Gonzalez, Alex Licerio, Oscar Gonzalez, Heriberto Gonzalez II, Magdalena Licerio, and Mayra Delgado, and 34 great-grandchildren.
