Maria Mendoza Guillen, 96, longtime Bovina resident passed away Sunday February 18, 2018 in Bovina. Rosary Services have been scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Henry Wilson Echavarria Rodriguez as Celebrant. Burial Following in the Bovina Cemetery by The Hansard Family at Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Maria was born July 21, 1921 in Candelaria, Texas to Valentine and Trinidad Estrada Mendoza. She married Enrique Guillen May 27, 1939 in Bahmorhea, Texas. The family has lived in Bovina for 38 years.

She was a homemaker and a longtime active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She was a person of great faith and had a servant's heart.  She cherished her family and friends.

Preceding her in death is her parents, her husband, 1 daughter-Gloria Guillen Chavez, 1 granddaughter-Norma Chavez Seda, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

To carry on her legacy are 5 daughters-Esperanza Guillen, Blanca Guillen, Elida Villarreal and husband Richard of Bovina, Trinidad Sanchez and husband Ramon Sanchez of Wolfforth, and Rosa Rios and husband Ramon of Eunice, N.M., 3 sons- Arturo Guillen and wife Alicia of Morton, Texas, George Guillen and wife DeEtte of Friona, and Henry Guillen and wife Yesenia of Eunice, N.M., several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
