Mary "Meg" Evelyn Goodner, 74, a resident of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022.  The family welcome all to celebrate Meg's life at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 5 ^th , 2022 at the Friona Cemetery Memorial Chapel. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Meg was born to Richard Arnold Goodner and Evelyn Ruth (Pethtel) Frame in Kermit, Texas.  Meg grew up in Jal, New Mexico and participated in swimming while playing the clarinet in band.  After High School Meg attended Eastern New Mexico University and Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2003.  Her studies were as broad as her imagination.  She studied Range and Wildlife and photography.  Her favorite past time was reading books, sewing, manicures, pedicures and taking care of her plants.  She always had multiple house plants and at times it could have been a little eccentric but if you knew Meg, you would know she could be over the top at times.  Meg enjoyed Taco Villa, Sonic, Dr. Pepper, cupcakes, chocolate and lemon lime Gatorade.  In 1996 she met Steve Clark from Friona, Texas.  Even though they continued to live separately, Steve in Friona and Meg in Lubbock, they were never apart.  They talked daily, usually multiple times and spent the weekends together enjoying each others company.  They shared a delight in eating out, researching Genealogy, dancing or taking their dogs to the park.  For 24 years Steve and Meg enjoyed each others company.  One thing that bond them together, was their dry and witty sense of humor.  They could make each other laugh and smile through most situations.  When Steve passed in 2020, Meg found it difficult but pushed through for her dog, Chloe.  Chloe has been with Meg for 16 years and was her constant companion.

Meg was preceded in death by her long time soul mate: Steve Clark; grandparents: Frank P. Goodner and Katie Flyer Goodner; AO Pethtel and Grace Mae (Schauwecker) Pethtel; Parents; Ricard Arnold Goodner, Evelyn Goodner Frame and Step Father Frank Frame; Brothers: Richard Goodner and Allan and David Frame.

Meg is survived by her two sons, Sean Childers and his wife Sherry of Shallowater, Texas; Scott Childers and his wife Deanna of Waucoma, Iowa; Sister: Anita Frame Snider and her husband Doug of Palestine, Texas; four grandchildren; Channing Childers, Tyler Childers, Chelsey Sanders, and Kyleigh Childers; and numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Meg supported multiple animal rescue associations and in her memory, instead of flowers we request you support a local animal rescue facility.
