Norberto Casillas Gonzalez, 76 of Friona passed away July 8, 2025 in Friona. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2025 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Celebration of Life Services set for 10:30 AM Friday July 11, 2025 also in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Mitchell, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Norberto was born March 3, 1949 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Severo and Maria Isabell Casillas Gonzalez. He later married Nora M. Raymond in September of 1978. Norberto had worked for the original owners of what is now Cargill Meat solutions, and was the area's handyman with carpentry, roofing and plumbing. He was a very caring person and had a way of making everyone feel special. Norberto loved music, especially oldies, and he treasured God and his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents-Severo and Maria, 1 brother-Jose Gonzalez, and 3 sisters- Socorro Gonzalez, Maria de Jesus Garcia and Amalia Viscarra.

Those to mourn his passing include his wife Nora Gonzalez of Friona, 3 daughters-Ana Gonzalez of Portland, Oregon, Eve Sherre Lopez and Crystal Gonzalez, both of Friona, 2 sons-Adam Raymond of Amarillo, and Norberto S. Gonzalez of Friona, 3 sisters-Paula Valdevia of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Rosa Huerta of Santa Clara, California, and Agapita Flores of Los Angeles, California, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren on the way.
