Pastor Ruben Rivera, 67 of Friona passed away November 20, 2020 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Friona with Pastor David Vela of Crosbyton and Rev. Brett Hoyle, pastor, officiating. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Ruben was born June 27, 1953 in Paint Rock, Texas to Marselo and Sophia Terrazas Rivera. He later married Margie Raymond July 1, 1974 in Friona. Ruben was a pastor in Friona for 35 years. Ruben was a very humble man that loved his family and his church family, but most of all, he loved his Lord. His deepest desire was to walk with God like Enoch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister-Liz Horner.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Margie of Friona, 2 sons-Aaron Rivera and wife Holly of Lubbock, and Joshua Rivera an wife Carrie of McKinney, 1 brother-Benjamin Rivera of Phoenix, AZ., 3 sisters-Martha Ancira of Albuquerque, Lydia Smith and husband Joe of Texico, Rachel Roy and husband Richard of Clovis, 4 grandchildren-Emma, Caedmon, Easton, and Katie, many church family members and friends.
