Pedro Garcia Prieto, 70 of Friona passed away November 22, 2021 in Lubbock. Viewing will be held Monday November 29, 2021 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Home Going Services scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Temple of Adoration of Friona with Estella Granada and Ricky Cervantez officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Pedro was born April 29, 1951 in Hereford, to Juan and Margarita Garcia Prieto.  He later married Mary Mendoza April 3, 1968. They have had a beautiful 53 years together.

He was a longtime cotton ginner, farmer and welder that took pride in his natural abilities in agriculture. He was known as a good man that loved his family, helping others and fishing. Pedro was a member of the Lord Supper Church in Gomez, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, 5 sisters, and 2 grandsons-Tobin and Emanuel Rosales.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Mary of Friona, 2 daughters-Angelina Cuellar and husband Ruben of Shallowater, and Laura Rosales and husband Marcus of Ralls, 1 son-Jerry Prieto of Friona, 3 sisters-Margie Zamarripa and Clema Hernandez, both of Lubbock, and Maria Mendoza of Austin, 6 grandchildren-Disa, Cody, Corvin, Sarah, Jerry Jr., and Sonya, and 12 great-grandchildren.
