Ramiro Villarreal Castaneda, 66 of Ballinger, formerly of Friona passed away October 18, 2018 in Ballinger. Viewing will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, October 21, 2018 at HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona with viewing Monday, October  22, 2018 9:30 A.M to 8:00 P.M. at Temple of Adoration Church in Friona. Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Temple of Adoration Church in Friona with Pastor Roy Dominguez, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Ramiro was born September 27, 1952 in Mexico to Emilio and Leonarda Villarreal Castaneda.

He was a very accomplished welder and loved to build and create. He was an avid fisherman that loved animals and camping and playing guitar. He was known to be a caring and loving man with a big heart.

He is preceded in death by 1 brother-Rolando Castaneda and 1 sister-Maricela Castaneda .

Those to carry on his legacy include:  his father- Emilio Castaneda of Muleshoe, mother-Leonarda Castaneda of Ballinger, 2 daughters-Laura Duran of Lubbock, and Imelda Castaneda Ortiz of Amarillo, 2 brothers-Emilio Castaneda of Bangs, Pete Castaneda of Amarillo, 5 sisters-Yolanda Lugo and Hilda Salcido of Amarillo, Elva Larrea of Bovina, Araceli Capricciuolo of Arlington and Sonia Flores of San Angelo, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
