Raul Medina Chavez, 66 of Friona, passed away June 19, 2020, in Amarillo.  Viewing and Rosary Services will be from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at St. Teresa's  Catholic Church in Friona. Mass of Christian Burial Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M.  Thursday, June 25, 2020 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with Father Marco Gonzalez of Amarillo as Celebrant. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY  Funeral Home of Friona.

Raul was born in Mexico to Jose Carmen Perez Chavez and Ofelia Medina Negrete Chavez.  He  worked at Cargill Meat since 1980, loved to dance and was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers Jose Carmen Chavez Jr. and Jose Antonio Chavez.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Elvira Chavez,  2 sons- Raul Chavez Jr. and Andy Chavez both of Friona, 5 brothers- Martin Chavez of Mexico, Luis Chavez of Phoenix, AZ, Salvador Chavez of El Paso, Armando Chavez of Mexico and Sergio Chavez of Las Cruces, New Mexico, 5 sisters Paz Chavez of Mexico, Letty Polanco of El Paso, Isela Diaz of El Paso, Guadalupe Alvarado of Mexico and Haydee Rodriguez of El Paso, and 3 grandchildren.
