Rickey Gene Jackson, 61 of Dimmitt, formerly of Friona passed away February 4, 2021 in Dimmitt. Viewing will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2021 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with his Home Going Service 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 8, 2021 in the Friona Cemetery with Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Rickey was born September 24, 1959 in Clovis to Robert Lawrence and Dorothy Mae Coleman- Jackson. He graduated from Friona High School in 1977, and attended West Texas State University.

Rickey was employed by A-1 Pump and Well Service, Maywood, and Cloth World. He was an employee for West Texas State University for 18 years, retiring in 2014 due to failing health. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening in his spare time. Most of all, he was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents.

Those to mourn his passing include 2 sisters-Estella Faye Jackson and husband Johnny of Amarillo, and Vickey L. Jackson of Dallas, 1 brother-Robert L. Jackson of Amarillo, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
