Roberto Vega Sr., 63 of Friona passed away March 21, 2026 in Friona. Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with Celebration of Life Services at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Roberto was born February 2, 1963 in Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose Nieves Vega and Ursula Carreño Vega. He later married Aracely Escamilla May 24, 1991. He was a very hard-working truck driver that loved his family and providing for them. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved to have coffee in the morning and was a very creative person playing his guitar, singing and composing songs. He was known for his patience and good heart.

He is preceded in death by his father- Jose Nieves Vega.

Those to mourn his passing include his mother- Ursula Carreño Vega and wife-Aracely Escamilla Vega, both of Friona, 3 sons-Roberto Vega Jr. and Ramiro Vega, of Amarillo, and Roy Vega of Friona, 4 brothers-Andres Vega and Carlos Vega of Friona, Jorge Vega of Denison, and Jose Vega of Tyler, 5 sisters-Maria Estela Vega and Evanjelina Vega of Hereford, Olga Vega of Canyon, Emma Vega of Lubbock, and Angelica Vega of Amarillo, 1 grandson Joel Vega of Amarillo, and 4 granddaughters- Areli Vega, Anaya Vega, Aurora Vega and Arlette Vega, all of Amarillo.

Roberto Vega Sr., de 63 años y residente en Friona, falleció el 21 de marzo de 2026 en Friona. El velatorio tendrá lugar de 10:00 a 15:00 horas, y la ceremonia conmemorativa se celebrará a las 15:00 horas del martes 24 de marzo de 2026 en la capilla Ron Smiley Memorial de la funeraria.  A continuación tendrá lugar el entierro en el cementerio de Friona, a cargo de la funeraria HANSARD FAMILY de Friona.
Robert nació el 2 de febrero de 1963 en Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato (México), hijo de José Nieves Vega y Úrsula Carreño Vega. Más tarde se casó con Aracely Escamilla el 24 de mayo de 1991. Era un camionero muy trabajador que amaba a su familia y se esforzaba por mantenerla. Fue un gran esposo, padre, abuelo y hermano. Le encantaba tomar café por las mañanas y era una persona muy creativa que tocaba la guitarra, cantaba y componía canciones. Era conocido por su paciencia y su buen corazón.
Le precedió en la muerte su padre, José Nieves Vega.
Entre quienes lloran su pérdida se encuentran su madre, Úrsula Carreño Vega, y su esposa, Aracely Escamilla Vega, ambas de Friona; tres hijos: Roberto Vega Jr. y Ramiro Vega, de Amarillo, y Roy Vega, de Friona; cuatro hermanos: Andrés Vega y Carlos Vega, de Friona, Jorge Vega, de Denison, y José Vega, de Tyler; cinco hermanas: María Estela Vega y Evanjelina Vega, de Hereford, Olga Vega, de Canyon; Emma Vega, de Lubbock; y Angélica Vega, de Amarillo; un nieto, Joel Vega, de Amarillo; y cuatro nietas: Areli Vega, Anaya Vega, Aurora Vega y Arlette Vega, todas de Amarillo.
