Rosa Maria Chavez, 55, of Bovina, TX, died Friday, February 26, 2016 in Amarillo, TX. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home in Friona, TX. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Friona with Reverend Brett Hoyle, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Bovina Cemetery in Bovina, TX. by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona, TX.

Rosa Maria was born on October 7, 1960 in Los Fresnos, Texas to David and Romana (Arambula) Bautista. She married Ruben Chavez on October 29, 1983 in Armelia Colima, Mexico. Rosa was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina, Texas. She enjoyed knitting, bird watching, playing games on her tablet, cookouts, and loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Romana Bautista and a sister, Delmira Bautisita.
