Rosendo Silva Lara, 81 of Bovina passed away February 6, 2018 in New Mexico. Prayer Services will be held 5:00 P.M. Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the XIT Building in Bovina with a Celebration of Life Service set for 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Bovina with Pastor Sergio Vernal of Plainview, officiating. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery in Bovina by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Mr. Lara was born April 12, 1936 in Mexico to Guadalupe and Maria Rosario Silva Lara. He married his love Hortencia Aguillon on the day of love February 14, 1961. This Godly couple served The Church of God of the First Born and community of Bovina for many years with humble hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Mario Lara and 2 sisters-Teresa Lara and Ester Lara.

Continuing the legacy are 3 daughters- Sylvia Medrano of Dimmitt, Irma Rocha and Anna DeLaCruz both of Bovina, 6 sons-Jessie Lara and Noe Lara of Dimmitt and Rosendo Lara Jr, Tony Lara, and Esequiel Lara all of Bovina and Robert Lara of Lamesa, 3 sisters- Rebecca Lara of Abernathy, Cruz Lara of Bovina, and Luisa Lara of Mexico, 6 brothers-Elezar Lara of Clovis, Jaime Lara of Bovina,  Samuel Lara, Jesus Lara, Emilio Lara, and Guztavo Lara all of Mexico, 43 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
