Ruben Chico, 92 of Friona passed away January 19, 2018 in Clarendon. Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at Templo Damasco Church in Friona with Rev. Josue Murillo, officiating. Burial in the Friona Cemetery  by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Ruben was born May 8, 1925 in Mexico to Adrian and Consepcion Flores Chico. He married Maria Ronquillo in 1950.

Ruben was a farmer and blacksmith and fabricator making farm plows, buggies and more. He was known as a prankster that loved to have fun. He loved to dance, taking walking trips and was never still for long.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 daughter-Rafaela Chico, 2 brothers-Benjamin Chico, Rafael Chico, and 3 sisters-Natalia Guitierrez, Hortencia Rodriguez and Emma Chico.

To carry on the legacy is 3 sons-Emilo Chico of Colorado Springs, CO., Jose Chico and Ruben Chico Sr. of Friona, 1 sister-Nelly Chico of El Paso, 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
