Russell Atwell, 94 of Friona, formerly of Clovis died August 2, 2017 in Friona. Celebration of Life Services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the 6th Street Church of Christ in Friona with Bobby Atwell, minister  of Arlington, and Jeff Procter, pastor, officiating. Arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Mr. Atwell was born November 24, 1922 in Pleasant Hill, New Mexico to Oda L. and Helen Inez Russell Atwell. Mr. Atwell was active military in the United States Navy and National Guard. He was an automobile mechanic, cattleman, farmer, loved to fish, play golf and ride motorcycles.

Survivors include 2 sons-Jim Atwell and wife Sherry of Friona, Bobby Nolan Atwell and wife Linda of Arlington, 2 daughters-Patricia Ann Hitchcock and husband John of Medford, Oregon, and Linda Ruth McFarland and husband Mickey of Fort Smith, Arkansas, 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
