Sue Carol Armstrong Rector, 93 years old passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday May 6, 2022 in Friona. Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 8, 2022 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Celebration of Life Graveside Services set for 11:00 AM Monday, May 9, 2022 in the Friona Cemetery in Friona with Rev. Skip Hodges, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Sue was born in Anthony, KS on November 16, 1928 to Jerimiah Lawrence (J.L.) and Lolita Agnes Hurt Armstrong. She graduated from Alva High School in Alva, OK.

She married Charles Millard Rector on December 23, 1949 in Medicine Lodge, KS and the couple moved to Friona in April 1955.

Sue was active as girl scout leader for many years. She was employed by Bi-Wize Drugstore, Dr. Lloyd Shackelford and the City of Friona. She loved camping and fishing with the family,  dancing, a good joke, watching movies, and a good card game of contract rummy.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles in June of 1981, and 2 brothers- Jack L. Armstrong and Leroy A. (Skip) Armstrong.

She is survived by her children Romalee (Tim) Armstrong. Charles M. (Chuck) Rector and Sami Sue (Jamie) Clegg.  Five grandchildren, Jeremy (Kira) Barbaree of Loganville, GA, Wendi Barbaree, and Heather (Chico) Caldron of Amarillo, TX,.   Kyndell (Sterling) Brooks of Mustang, OK and  Cody (Kalli) Chism of Yukon, OK.  Seven  great grandchildren,  Isaiah and Gabriella Calderon,  Kaylee Brooks,  Corbin and Tucker Barbaree, Dawnyell Barbaree, Adrian Williams, and special friend Bobby Saiz of Clovis, NM.,and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials made to favorite charity.
