Vanessa Villarreal 19, of Bovina passed away on January 16, 2022.  Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday January 23, 2022 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Celebration of Life Services set for 11:00 AM Monday, January 24, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Bovina with Rev. Mickey Mounce and Jarhead Majhor, officiating. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Vanessa was born March 15, 2002 in Amarillo to Joe Villarreal and Lisa Serna. She was a 2020 graduate of Bovina High School.

She was known to family and friends as a fun, free spirit and a big Sour Patch Kid. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Vanessa would encourage us all to randomly help and care for others, and above all, always try to do better.

Those that mourn her passing include her father- Joe Villarreal of Amarillo, mother-Lisa Serna of Bovina, grandparents-Andres and Maria Serna of Bovina, Mary Villarreal of Amarillo, and Zeferino Villarreal of Clovis, 4 sisters-Samantha Vela and husband Gael, Andrea Villarreal and Luis Tafoya, Gabriella Hernandez and husband Danny, and Mireya Villarreal, all of Amarillo, and much-loved nieces and nephews-Amari Tafoya, Danny Hernandez II, Khloe Hernandez and Audrina Vela.
